Honda Accord Crosstour
The Accord Crosstour is a competitor to the Toyota Venza, a wagon based upon the Accord’s perennial competitor, the Toyota Camry. The Crosstour and Acura ZDX are said to be inspired by the BMW X6 and upcoming 5 Series Gran Turismo. The Accord Crosstour will be sold exclusively in the US, Canada and Mexico. Despite common belief, the Accord Crosstour is not mechanically related to the Acura ZDX.Part wagon, part crossover, the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour was revealed on Tuesday ahead of its launch this fall. The Crosstour is based on the Accord sedan but gets a bolder grille and wedged-shaped C-pillars. The Crosstour is similar to the Acura ZDX concept shown at the New York auto show, but that was based on a different platform.
Crossover function comes with an increased ride height and what Honda calls “all-weather potential” — code words for all-wheel drive.
The Crosstour will top the Accord lineup, Honda says, so look for pricing to be higher than for its sedan sibling.
The cargo area in the rear of the Crosstour is less prominent than in other crossovers, as the lines flow back to give it a hatchlike appearance. The Crosstour will go head-to-head with the Toyota Venza, among other crossovers
